2016 Golden Warrior WINNERS

Golden Warrior Scholar
The seniors with the top cumulative GPA’s were honored all year as golden warrior candidates. Our top senior, the Valedictorian of the Class of 2016, is our Golden Warrior Scholar. With a cumulative GPA of 4.38,
Alexandra Johnson.

Citizenship
The Golden Warrior Citizenship award goes to the senior who has demonstrated extraordinary good character on campus and off, gives freely of their time, and is known to all for their demeanor, good nature, and service heart. They participate in school events and activities and are ingrained in the campus community in one way or other, modeling the Warrior Way and showing the community at large what we hope all of our students to strive for.

This year, our Golden Warrior Citizenship award goes to a senior who has been a leader in every program she is a part of. She conducts the pep band at football games, and has been our award winning drum major for two years. She is a link crew commissioner, part of interact, a volleyball captain, a leader in Madrigals, and took the lead role of Mary Poppins for the Spring musical. She has been involved on campus since her freshman year, and has excelled in academics, arts, music and athletics. She is the President of Renaissance Leadership and has contributed countless hours to making YVHS a better place. Next year, she will be headed off to BYU Utah to study Chemistry-

Claire Rader.

Leadership
The Golden Warrior Leadership award goes to the senior who rises to the occasion at school and off campus in the community, taking charge where necessary, and living and behaving in a way that others want to follow them. The Leadership award is for those students who are not only integrated in the campus community for their involvement, but are seen as natural leaders in their pursuits and among their peer groups.

This year, our Golden Warrior Leadership award goes to a senior who serves as a leader on and off the field, as your Senior Class Vice President and the captain of the football and baseball teams. He leads with integrity and he leads by example, and is dedicated, loyal to the YV community, and gives freely of his time. He has stepped up time after time in the face of adversity and is a guy who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way each day. Next year he is headed off to Cal Poly SLO to study Business-

Cristian Ramirez

GOLDEN WARRIOR
This award goes to the senior who exemplifies all of the traits we honor in our Warriors, Scholarship, Citizenship, and Leadership. They are involved in the school community, and for the community at large they are proud to be a Warrior. They help others and serve as examples to underclassmen, they work hard for success academically, and they overcome adversity with grace and perseverance.

This year, our Golden Warrior is someone who has been serving the community and the campus since her freshman year. She is universally well-liked by her peers, teachers, and staff. She leads with grace, integrity and fairness, and she strives and excels in academics, athletics and character. She is the captain of the soccer and lacrosse teams, the President of HOSA, a sports medicine and John Muir volunteer intern, a youth leader for her church, and a truly golden Warrior. Next year she will be attending Fort Lewis College in Durango Colorado to study public health. Our 2016 Golden Warrior-
