Golden Warrior Nominee- Lauren Curtis!

Lauren Curtis

Matriculated from: Sequoia Middle School

Future Path Plans: Go to BYU to study nursing

Favorite Subject: Sports Medicine or Physiology - I want to go into the nursing field so these classes have fulfilled my interest in the physical body

Most Challenging Class this Year: AP Calculus

Career Goals: Labor and Delivery Nurse

Something she has always wanted: a photographic memory

What she likes most about being a Warrior: The opportunity to participate in so many sports, clubs, and classes, and the family you create within those activities.

Favorite Weekend Activity: Spending time with friends.

Favorite Place to Eat: Fenton's

Favorite Place to Vacation: Disneyland

One skill she could teach anyone: Organization

If she could do high school all over again, the one thing she would change would be... I would've stepped outside of my comfort zone earlier on.

Best tip for success to Underclassmen: Always, always, always do extra credit

Inspirational Figures in her Life: Walt Disney- he never gave up on his dream, no matter what trials or rejections he faced.

Her Top 5 Contributions to the School and Community:
  • Secretary of Interact Club
  • Head commissioner of Link Crew
  • Rally Commissioner, ASB
  • Concord Pioneer Newspaper Correspondent
  • Participate in multiple sports teams and performing arts groups
What she feels makes a great leader: "Someone who is willing to step up and do what they're asking others to do as well as go the extra mile to accomplish a task."

An example of a great leader: Mr. Searfus

Something that YVHS does really well: Creating a family atmosphere and allowing anyone to participate in any activity on campus.

Two ideas to improve things here at YVHS: Positive thinking and speaking and giving back to those who help you through out your life.

Something she would like to improve about herself: Get in better shape and prepare for the Freshman 15

One Staff Member she will never forget: Mr. Hubbell - he always shares stories about his time serving in Africa and he never ceases to make us laugh.

Quote of the Moment: "Throw kindness around like confetti." ~Anonymous
